Wisconsin Antique Stoneware and Earthenware
At least four pottery works existed from 1845 to 1882 which used local clay. The earthen wares they produced were light and brittle but some were incredibly beautiful - rivaling some of the best Pennsylvania redwares. This gallery includes some of the best examples know from these potteries.
Charles Hermann stoneware Factory operated in Milwaukee from 1856 to 1886. They used imported clay and produced mostly salt glazed or Albany Slip glazed wares in large quantities
